Starbucks Reserve Rwanda Sholi Coffee Review
This coffee was, in short, mind-blowingly good. Just to clarify, this isn't a sponsored post for Starbucks, just an honest review.
These beans are tough to find online, so it's better to visit a local Starbucks. If they don't have them, the baristas can usually tell you if another nearby Starbucks does.
This coffee was truly delicious. A treat. Immediately upon reading the description of this coffee on the card attached to the bag, I knew it was going to be special.
This roast was one of the best I’ve had in a while.

REVIEW
When it comes to coffee, there are a few flavors notes I have come to love, and raspberry and toffee are a few of those. Seeing those flavor notes told me that this was going to be great.
According to Starbucks, this coffee has “tea-like florals, notes of raspberry and cherry skins, with a toffee sweetness.”
I used the beans from this roast to make Americanos (iced and hot), cold brew, cappuccino, latte, flat white, cold brew, and an affogato. All were delightful. Of everything I made with this roast, the cold brew was my favorite.
Flavor Profile
The flavor profile of Starbucks Reserve Rwanda Sholi Coffee is nothing short of spectacular. The beans are medium-roasted, which allows the natural flavors to shine through without being overpowered by the roasting process. Upon the first sip, one can immediately detect a complex array of flavors that make this coffee truly unique.
Aromas and Initial Impressions
The aroma of the freshly brewed coffee is inviting, with hints of floral and fruity notes that tantalize the senses. As the coffee cools slightly, these aromas become more pronounced, offering a preview of the flavors to come.
Tasting Notes
Floral Notes: The initial sip reveals delicate floral notes, reminiscent of jasmine or honeysuckle. These floral undertones add a lightness to the coffee, making it feel almost ethereal.
Fruity Accents: As the floral notes dissipate, a wave of fruity flavors emerges. One can detect hints of blackcurrant, raspberry, and even a touch of citrus. These fruity accents provide a refreshing contrast to the floral notes, creating a well-balanced flavor profile.
Nutty Undertones: The fruity flavors give way to subtle nutty undertones, adding depth and complexity to the coffee. The nutty notes are reminiscent of almonds or hazelnuts, providing a smooth, creamy finish.
Chocolate Hints: Finally, a hint of dark chocolate lingers on the palate, adding a rich, velvety texture to the coffee. This chocolatey finish ties all the flavors together, creating a harmonious and satisfying experience.
Should you try this coffee? Yes. You’d be crazy not to. After trying it for a few drinks I went back and bought 5 more bags.
